The Pain of the Father

These verses moved my heart, i was reflecting on how it must feel to be deserted by your own children. Yet Jesus died for us.


Isaiah 53:3-6


 3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
 4 Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.

Greetings from the Rocky mountains in Colorado

My View Every morning in Colorado Springs

I have been in colorado for the last few weeks. This last week was exciting cause i got to spend it with 1st year incomming staff, who were mostly fresh out of college and going back to college campuses for full time ministry. I got to get to know them, pray with them, encourage them, and just share my expiriences with them. It was a great time.

This is also exciting cause it is one of the biggest classes of people going into the collegiate missions work this year around the country. more than 70!

Soo, i just wanted to update you all on whats been happening with me.

Also the internship is going great, i am learning a lot of things in headquarters. In a few weeks i should be done with the bowie video, and i will send or email you all copies so you can check it out. the student testimonies hopefully will be encouraging to you.

Please Pray for me and my team as we continue to fundraise this summer for another year of ministry at bowie state.

Update:  Computer!
My computer is on its last heartbeat.  it is a few years old  and I am planning on getting a mac book pro ASAP.  If you want to partner with me and help me get mac book pro.  I would greatly appreciate it.  I am working at Navigator headquarters this summer, interning in media development department and I'm working on a mac book while i am there, using programs like final cut pro.  I am working on ministry videos, and also a Bowie campus website. and some other goodies.  I don't have a personal mac book , so after i leave and return to bowie, I am praying that God will provide me with a mac book pro or the finances to get it. (:

Summer Plans Update!

> I am leaving May 10 to go to Colorado where I will see some of the Edgers I joined navigators with. Some are getting married; some are going back to school. Some are taking what they learned into the workplace, and many others things. Some are staying on for Staff In Training (ME!), I am going to stay at Bowie State University this upcoming school year as I continue to grow and be disciple and learn how to disciple others. 2 Timothy 2:2,
> From May 18- July 2 I will be serving at the Navigator headquarters in Colorado, and learning video editing, recording, stage lighting, and how to give interviews. I will also be working on a Bowie State ministry film, to help raise support and awareness.
> From July 4-14 I will fly out to Durham, North Carolina to the Urban Hope Summer camp I served at last year. And I will videotape interviews, and camp activities for an upcoming film they are going to be working on. And hopefully I will get to visit my sister (Megan) and her son (Nathan), who lives in the area.
> Then from July 14-August 15 I will be in California, hanging out with my family and friends.
> Then from August 15 I will fly back to Maryland and get ready for upcoming school year at Bowie which starts Sept 1st

>> I will be fundraising the whole summer. Trusting God to raise a total of $3,900 in monthly support (before taxes) to cover housing, food, traveling, and ministry costs. I currently have roughly $1,400 in monthly support (before taxes) coming in. But God has been also providing through many large 1 time gifts.

April 19th Supreme Court Case. Keep in your prayers

On April 19th, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments to decide whether groups like The Navigators, InterVarsity, Campus Crusade and others can be removed from college campuses because they require their officers and voting members to share their core religious commitments. According to some universities these core religious beliefs violate their affirmative action policy.


Pray for the justices to rule on the side of religious freedom.This case has far reaching implications for religious freedom in all areas.

We are often refered to as sheep in the scriptures.  Makes me think of how helpless i really am, even when i think I got it all in control.

Praise Report from AFAM! Thank you for your prayers for this past weekend.

12 Black College Students expressed interest to return to college after graduation and serve with the Navigators EdgeCorps, on a Historically Black University! 

Pray that God gives them clarity these next few months.  If this is really what God wants for them. 

"There is nothing better than to be in God's will, in the midst of our sacrifices, there is nothing more devestating to be out of God's will in the midsts of our sacrifices."

So Pray for these young black men and women!  Pray for them to seek God, to be led by his spirit.

And pray that if these students are meant to be laborers with navigators, spreading the gospel, and making disciples, that they pursue it whole heartedly.

The African American Congress on Discipleship is this weekend!

It is a gathering of a wide range of people who meet annually in different cities to be encouraged, stimulated, equipped and trained to evangelize and produce disciplemaking leaders in the African American community.

The Theme of the Congress is to become a displemaking leader.

This is the conference where Robert, Laura, Sarah and I first got introduced to the opportunity to minister in african american community specifically on a college campus, as a missionary.

Please Pray for God to empower more young african american men and women to walk along side us in this vision.

Who is in Control?...


For Christ's Love Controls Us... 2 Corinthians 5:14

I want people to love me for who I am, not because what they want me to be, and not because of what I do or don’t do. I believe many people struggle with acceptance just as I do. Many of us rebel, not because we want to be disliked, but because we want to see who can really love us past what is humanly possible, past our flaws, past our failures. Who can love us with an unnatural but highly sought after love. To be more specific, agape love. A love outside of conditions. A love deeper than the surface. A love that requires us to tether our hearts to God’s Holy Spirit just so that we can express it. Have you tasted this love? I believe when we truly understand and experience this love, we can do nothing else but pour it out to everyone we meet because its like an overflowing well of living water. The most amazing part about agape love is that we can’t do anything to gain His love. Likewise, we can do nothing to lose His love. He loves us as we are. This divine revelation constantly soothes my soul, captures my heart, and takes my fears away. His perfect love has cast out my fear. Pray that I can remember His love for me always. And live in this love. And speak in this love. And dream in this love. Love with His love.

I started studying Nehemiah today and it is an amazing book, its very captivating to read all the emotions that Nehemiah was going through and his response.  I wish I could study this all day today, its amazing.

Here is a takeaway from Ch. 1 of Nehemiah
 Nehemiah 1:8-9
8 "Remember the instruction you gave your servant Moses, saying, 'If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations,  9 but if you return to me and obey my commands, then even if your exiled people are at the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for my Name.
Cross Reference: Deuteronomy 30:4
Even if you have been banished to the most distant land under the heavens, from there the Lord your God will gather you and bring you back.

All a man’s labor is for his mouth and yet the appetite in not satisfied



FEED ME!

From the time I was born my flesh has cried out FEED ME! And in this flesh I am moved by an insatiable hunger, which is described in Ecclesiastes 6:7

[All a man’s labor is for his mouth and yet the appetite in not satisfied.]

This is how I often feel. Trapped in my flesh, no matter how much I eat, I am always hungry. No matter how much I drink, I am always thirsty. FEED ME! When we close our eyes and feel the heartbeat of the world, that’s what they are saying, that’s what I’m saying. FEED ME.

God understands our hunger, because He created it. And He is the only one that can fill it.

[John 4:14 whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life].




Ask God for a drink.

[John 4:15 Sir give me this water, so I will not be thirsty…]

Let us all learn how to give our hearts back to God so he can fill them.

Praise Report 11/19/09

Exciting Day.

I was in the Library all day getting administration done and A student, Elijah came by to hang out. I was really busy so I wasn't really talking to him, he was just sitting next to me for about 20 minutes. Then he opened his journal and started writing. I looked over and was curious what he was writing so I asked him, then he handed it to me. It was a page full of question. all centered around why he isn't getting the things, or have the life that he wants. I told Elijah is seemed like he was really saying " I just want to be happy". So I stopped what I was doing and started talking about how if we look to things in this world to make us happy, are hearts will always be tugged back and forth because everything that we have will one day pass away. Then I had him read

Mathew 6:19 - 21   19"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.


We talked about where out treasure is our heart is also. I asked him where was his heart. WE both new it was tethered to the world. So I explained to him that Only God can satisfy his hearts desires and truly make him content. Then I had him read

Philippians 4:12 - 12I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

The secret to being content is giving God our hearts.

After more verses and more discussion. I got to share the bridge with Elijah and he said he wanted to be saved, I was so EXCITED!! WE got to pray together.
